Job Summary

Under the direction of the Corporate QA Manager the incumbent will develop and implement quality assurance programs and procedures to ensure compliance with corporate, GMP, HACCP, BRC, and other applicable requirements and standards. Drive continuous improvement of the quality assurance by managing documentation, data, risk analysis and sanitation processes

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage QA activities to ensure compliance with current GMPs, HACCP, and other food safety requirements

Develop, update and manage necessary documentation pertaining to QA, QC and Sanitation matters including the Sanitation Plan, conduct and monitor the analysis, inspection, and testing to ensure the quality of products, components and processes

Identify, evaluate, plan and implement effective actions to improve quality control and risk assessment. Communicate findings to management

Lead initiatives on the floor to control and reduce contamination and to ensure a high level of food safety according to the company and regulatory requirements

Provide QA, QC and Sanitation expertise on the evaluation of manufacturing processes and procedures

Other job-related duties as required

Qualifications and Requirements

Associate’s/Bachelors or MA degree in food science, Microbiology or related discipline

Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently in a busy environment

Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Computer fluency

Work Conditions

Physical ability to lift up to 20 kg

Personal Protective Equipment is required

Hazards associated with manufacturing

Work short periods in a cold environment.

Occasional flexibility in terms of workdays or hours may be required
