Scholarship – You Are The Future Food Grads!

Last Updated on February 21, 2023

It is really hard (understatement) to start your own business.  The benefits are amazing once you reach certain goals, but the climb can be tumultuous to say the least and there are always more goals to reach!

This is why you need to ask for help and accept help on your food journey.

A Scholarship for Dreamers & Builders

After a great phone call with Abe Cohn, I had to share this exciting opportunity with you.  Abe and his team of lawyers help food & beverage startups.  From intellectual property to labelling.

Any business that’s involved in food production must comply with food laws. Food producers, distributors and retailers rely on food lawyers to help them with the many bodies of law that might apply to their work.  More on that in a later post (but what an amazing career path!)

What Would You Do With $1000?

Cohn Legal Group would like to award a $1,000 scholarship to a student starting a food business for the best-submitted essay (determined by their judges).

Now that’s some amazing help I’d say!

The scholarship award will be awarded in cheque format, made payable directly to the university or college where the winner attends or will attend, or directly to the winner.

Essay – Part 1:

Every great entrepreneur is driven by the same intense desire to succeed and win. What motivated you to start your journey as an entrepreneur and what stokes the fire in your belly to make it a success? Discuss what being an entrepreneur means to you.

Essay – Part 2:

Tell us about yourself. Now tell us about your new startup, the who, what, when, and where of the business model and how you plan on making it a success.

How far along is your business? How much money have you personally invested? How much money have you raised?  Have you taken a loan? Of how much?

Finally, they would like you to discuss how you plan on using the scholarship money if you win and would like you to keep your essay under 1,500 words.

Go for it and good luck food peeps!
