Food Safety Sanitarian
Job Responsibilities:Maintain a safe work environment by properly implementing the IIPP (Injury Illness Prevention Programs)
Always raise safety awareness for chemical handling and equipment operation with Lockout/Tagout training.Prepare and clean rooms and machinery utilizing high-pressure hoses, cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, and other provided equipment to ensure a sanitary environment ready for daily production of processed meat products.Ensure ongoing compliance with established cleaning schedules and sanitation procedures, following the Seven Steps of Sanitation.Ensure that the plant is cleaned daily and ready to start production on time.Maintain good communication with subordinates, peers, and other members of management.Complete safety goals dailyExposure to chemicals (with PPE provided); understanding of sanitation chemicals and uses.Skills:Must be able to work day and/or afternoon shifts as required by the job.Accountability for his/her own actionsAbility to take direction and instruction from managementAbility to train othersStrong work ethicSafety awarenessAttention to detailAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Ability to work in environments with extreme temperature fluctuationsMust have the knowledge and skills required to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, both inside and around the facilityCapability of lifting items such as chemical containers, hoses, equipment, etc.
